Two Bits Down, Six Bits to Go

As of yesterday, I am 25% through the first draft of my latest novel (which is really my oldest novel, but that's another story). I have a little widget on my computer monitor that was designed for keeping track of money as you save it up. I changed "dollars" to "words," and voila! I can save up my words in virtual piggy bank. So far... 19,601 words in the bank, and 60,399 left to go. (My goal is based on an estimate of 80,000 words in the finished manuscript, which could be off by as many as 20,000 words. It's possible that I haven't eve written myself out of my fudge factor...) One word at ... (more...)
